NEET Plant Physiology Quiz
Practice on transport in plants, mineral nutrition, photosynthesis, respiration, and plant growth and development - the unit NEET students most often under-prepare.

Every question is generated fresh by AI and calibrated to your level - clear a level and the next one gets harder. Miss one and the AI tutor explains Plant Physiology until it sticks, then aims a follow-up at the gap. Want to grind one level? Start the quiz and type that sub-topic as your own.
Exam focus
How Plant Physiology is asked
Consistently reported as one of the harder Botany units and often deprioritised in favour of Human Physiology - which is why it is a differentiator. Photosynthesis and respiration in particular reward students who learn the pathways as processes with locations and products rather than as lists to memorise.

Common mistakes in Plant Physiology
- Confusing the C3, C4 and CAM pathways. C4 plants separate the two carboxylations in space using bundle sheath cells, while CAM plants separate them in time, fixing carbon at night. Both adaptations exist to suppress photorespiration.
- Mixing up where each stage happens. The light reactions occur in the thylakoid membranes and the Calvin cycle in the stroma; glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm and the Krebs cycle in the mitochondrial matrix.
- Getting the plant hormone effects backwards. Auxins promote apical dominance, gibberellins promote stem elongation, cytokinins promote cell division, abscisic acid is the stress hormone that closes stomata, and ethylene ripens fruit.
- Assuming transpiration is purely a loss. The transpiration pull is what drives the ascent of water in tall plants, and it also cools the leaf - so it is a cost with essential functions attached.
- Reversing water potential reasoning. Water moves from higher to lower water potential, and pure water has the highest value at zero - adding solute makes it more negative.

NEET Plant Physiology Quiz - FAQs
Why do C4 plants perform better in hot, dry conditions?
Because they concentrate carbon dioxide around RuBisCO in the bundle sheath cells, which suppresses photorespiration. At high temperatures RuBisCO increasingly binds oxygen instead of carbon dioxide in C3 plants, wasting energy - the C4 mechanism largely avoids that loss.
How should I revise photosynthesis for NEET?
Learn it as a sequence with locations, inputs and outputs rather than as isolated facts. If you can state where each stage happens, what enters and what leaves, most NEET questions on this chapter answer themselves - including the ones about which product feeds the next stage.
Is the neet plant physiology quiz free?
Yes - completely free, with no sign-up required. Type a topic, press start, and the AI generates an adaptive Plant Physiology quiz with an explanation for every answer.
Can teachers host this neet plant physiology quiz live for a class?
Yes - create a free teacher account, host a live room on "Plant Physiology", and students join with a 6-character code at quff.in/join. No student accounts needed.
